Standing With Families Through the Worst Disaster in Years
Kunar Province
In response to the devastating earthquake in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, the Human Development Fund (HDF) implemented a rapid emergency response to support families who lost homes, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities.
Program Overview
HDF delivered life-saving assistance to 230 earthquake-affected families across Kunar Province. The response prioritized immediate survival needs and stabilization during the critical aftermath of the disaster.
Families received comprehensive emergency packages that included staple food items, essential household and hygiene items and clean water.
HDF provided cash support to 100 injured individuals and families who were hospitalized at Nangarhar Provincial Hospital. This flexible cash assistance helped families meet urgent medical and household needs during recovery.
The response reflected HDF’s commitment to rapid, community-centered humanitarian action that saves lives, protects dignity, and supports recovery in times of emergency.
