Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized the immense reward in caring for orphans, likening the bond to that of companionship in paradise. At the Human Development Fund (HDF), we take this profound responsibility to heart. With over 160 million orphans globally facing daunting challenges like abuse and poverty, our mission is to provide not just sponsorship but holistic care and empowerment to these vulnerable children.
Global Orphan Statistics
According to UNICEF, there are approximately 140 million orphans worldwide, with around 15 million having lost both parents. These children face heightened risks of exploitation, abuse, and limited access to education and healthcare.
We serve orphaned children in various countries, including Syrian and Palestinian refugees, Kenya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen.
Your sponsorship provides a full year’s food supply, covers all school-related fees, ensures regular healthcare checkups, and secures safe housing accommodations. By supporting an orphan, you are making a profound impact on their life, giving them the essentials they need for a brighter future.
Through your generous contributions, we have made a lasting impact on the lives of orphaned children beyond the Ramadan season. Our ongoing efforts have touched the lives of thousands of children in need across different countries:
Pakistan: Supporting 100 orphaned children
Kenya: Supporting 300 orphaned children
Somalia: Supporting 100 orphaned children
Yemen: Supporting 200 orphaned children
Palestine: Supporting 100 orphaned children
Jordan: Supporting 100 orphaned children

Prophet Muhammed ﷺ on him be peace, said: ‘I and the one who looks after an orphan shall be in Paradise like these two’ — and he raised his index finger and the one next to it, holding them together, barely separate” (Bukhari)
