“Is aid really reaching Gaza?”
It’s the question everyone is asking and we want to answer it clearly and truthfully: Yes, aid by HDF is reaching Gaza every single day, thanks to your generous support and the relentless efforts of our teams on the ground.
Despite border closures, ongoing conflict, and severe humanitarian challenges, HDF teams remain steadfast. Our dedicated staff risk their lives daily, driven by faith, compassion, and a shared commitment to serving those who have lost nearly everything.
In the powerful words of our CEO, Shaykh Abdirahman Kariye:
“Every day, our brave teams in Gaza are risking their lives to bring families the support they so desperately need… This is the human cost of relief work in Gaza and yet, our teams remain steadfast.“
Aid Delivered: Impact Highlights for May 2025
Here’s how your support made a tangible difference in May alone:
Fighting Hunger with Hot Meals.
With the growing hunger, we expanded our meal program significantly:
- 57,200 hot meals delivered in May
- Daily meals increased from 1,800 to nearly 3,000
- Distribution points: HDF Camps (North & Central), Al-Aqsa Hospital, Al-Helou Hospital
- New expansion in North Gaza started May 18
Clean Water: A Lifeline for Gaza
Clean water remains critically scarce, but your generosity provided:
- 670,000 liters of clean water distributed
- Over 134,000 individuals served
- Daily operations across North and Central Gaza, supported by active water wells and trucks
Mobile Clinics: Delivering Healthcare Amid Crisis
With Gaza’s healthcare system critically stretched, our mobile clinics provided urgent medical support:
- 924 patients treated in North Gaza
- 533 patients treated in Central Gaza (since May 8)
- Direct service in camps and vulnerable communities
Infant Nutrition: Protecting Gaza’s Youngest
Infants are among the most vulnerable in Gaza. Your aid provided:
- 3,000 units of infant formula distributed
- Critical nutritional support to infants across hospitals and camps in North, Central, and South Gaza
Emergency Shelter & Sanitation Solutions
Displacement is growing rapidly, and your donations enabled:
- 90 additional tents across North and Central Gaza camps (total now 290 tents)
- 4 sanitation units installed, benefiting 280 individuals daily
Education Continues Despite the Crisis
We believe in sustaining education even amidst crisis:
- North Gaza School: Operational, serving 60 students (grades 2–4) in four core subjects
- Central Gaza School: Infrastructure currently under development
Understanding Gaza’s Reality
You may wonder why some aid recipients exchange items they receive. The reality is complex and heartbreaking. After years of blockade, many families face impossible choices: exchanging one essential item for another desperately needed, like trading flour for medicine.
As Shaykh Abdirahman Kariye explains:
“This isn’t exploitation of aid, it’s the harsh mathematics of survival.“
This reality underscores why HDF remains committed not just to short-term relief but sustainable, responsive, and compassionate support.
Our Commitment: HDF Is Here to Stay
From water and meals to healthcare, shelter, and education, HDF’s mission continues without pause. Our warehouses are operational, our teams resilient, and our plans ready to scale up when access improves.
We won’t stop. With your prayers, your donations, and your ongoing support, we will continue standing with Gaza.
