On these Blessed Nights: Food, Water & Hope for Gaza’s Families

As we enter the final, most sacred nights of Ramadan, our hearts turn to Laylatul Qadr, a night better than a thousand months, when Allah’s mercy descends, prayers are answered, and every act of charity carries the weight of a lifetime. It is a night to give, to hope, and to lift others as we seek His forgiveness and light.

While many of us are surrounded by family, comfort, and prayer, tens of thousands of displaced families in Gaza spend these nights in makeshift tents and overcrowded shelters. Their homes have been destroyed, their access to food and water cut off, and their lives upended by relentless crises.

But even in the heaviest darkness, light finds a way. Alhamdulillah, through your compassion and your trust in the Human Development Fund (HDF), that light is reaching Gaza. From Day 1 to Day 26 of this blessed month, your support has been life changing. When every drop of clean water is a blessing, when every meal is an answered prayer, you have been the difference.

50,000 Hot Meals Served…..And We’re Not Done Yet

In Gaza, where food has become a daily struggle and kitchens lie in ruins, your support has already delivered over 50,000 hot meals to families across Gaza. These meals have not just filled stomachs, they’ve restored dignity, preserved Ramadan traditions, and reminded families that they are not alone. Mothers have unwrapped warm, fragrant meals after long days of fasting, meals they thought they wouldn’t see this year. You made that possible, bringing relief, stability, and joy in a Ramadan marked by hardship. And with your continued support, that mercy will keep reaching camp by camp, family by family. Insha’Allah.

From Crisis to Clean Water: 92,000 Lives Sustained Daily

For displaced Gazan families, clean water is no longer guaranteed, it’s a daily struggle for survival. Bombed pipelines, contaminated wells, and collapsing infrastructure have left families vulnerable to thirst, illness, and despair.

But because you trusted HDF, 92,000 people are now receiving clean water every single day.

This is more than a statistic, it’s a child drinking safely again, a mother able to boil water without fear, an elder making wudu in peace. This water is life-saving. It’s ongoing. It’s mercy in motion, flowing through the heart of crisis.

Filling Tanks, Preserving Dignity: Water in HDF Camps

In overcrowded shelters where families have lost everything, even the most basic needs become urgent. That’s why HDF delivers 20,000 liters of clean water every day to camps across central and northern Gaza.

This water meets both drinking and washroom needs, restoring dignity and health in the hardest of conditions. It’s not just a supply, it’s protection, it’s peace of mind, it’s survival. And every drop is a testament to your mercy reaching those who need it most.

Feeding the Fasting: 10,600 Families Nourished by You

At the start of Ramadan, when shelves were bare and uncertainty filled every home, your trust in us made sure no table was left empty. Through your generosity, 10,600 people received food parcels filled with staples like flour, oil, rice, and dates, enough to nourish entire families for the month.

These weren’t just ingredients, they were acts of love. They gave families the chance to prepare their own iftars, to bring back a sense of normalcy, and to feed their children with dignity. You reminded them they were not forgotten.

Let Mercy Reach the Unseen Corners

Tonight could be Laylatul Qadr, a night better than a thousand months, when every act of mercy is multiplied. As we seek forgiveness, thousands in Gaza still seek safety. Children fast without knowing if iftar will come. Mothers search for clean water. Fathers pray for one more meal. But because of you, light has reached them. Since the first night of Ramadan:

  • 50,000 meals have been served with dignity
  • 92,000 people are drinking clean water every day
  • 20,000 liters are flowing into camps daily
  • 10,600 people have been nourished through food parcels.

This is your impact, it’s your mercy in action. As the final nights of Ramadan approach, the gates of rewards remain open, and the need on the ground is still urgent. There is still time to be written among those who showed mercy when it mattered most.

Let’s do our part, by giving, by raising awareness, and by reminding our communities that even a small act can carry the weight of eternity. Let’s quench the thirst of a displaced child, deliver iftar to a fasting soul, and send a message of compassion that reaches beyond this night.

Together, let’s make sure our mercy echoes into the hereafter.
