As the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah dawn upon us, we’re reminded that this sacred window is more than just the lead-up to Eid, it’s an invitation. An invitation to draw closer to Allah. To honor the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). And to extend our hands in compassion to those who need us most.
This Dhul Hijjah, the Human Development Fund invites you to be part of something greater. A Qurbani that goes beyond borders. That brings joy where it’s been absent, and nourishment where it’s long overdue.
Together We Sacrifice: What Your Qurbani Means This Dhul Hijjah
Through your Qurbani, you’re not just offering a ritual act of worship, you’re feeding families who haven’t tasted meat in months, maybe even years. From Syria to Ghana, Chad to India, your sacrifice becomes their lifeline.
With over 5,000 sacrifices planned across 27+ countries, this year’s Qurbani campaign is more than a distribution, it’s a global movement of mercy. We’re reaching orphans, widows, refugees, and families who’ve faced the unbearable weight of hunger and hardship.
Your Qurbani is performed where it’s most needed, from Somalia to Pakistan, Nigeria to Nepal, carried out by local teams who know the terrain, the urgency, and the dignity it demands.
Not Just Any Qurbani, An HDF Qurbani
Every Qurbani is handled with transparent processes, local partnerships, and 100% Zabiha-compliant. What you give is treated as an amanah (sacred trust) because that’s exactly what it is.
Locally Sourced. Ethically Slaughtered.
We work with trusted local farmers to support livelihoods and reduce transport delays. Each animal is inspected for health, age, and Islamic compliance and slaughtered under expert supervision, strictly according to Islamic guidelines.
Within 24–48 hours of slaughter, meat is distributed, ensuring freshness and dignity. These are not delayed or symbolic distributions. They are real meals reaching real families swiftly. To honor the spirit of transparency we promised, you’ll receive post-distribution reports that confirm your Qurbani was fulfilled with integrity, care, and full transparency.
This isn’t just meat. It’s a celebration of faith. It’s nourishment that touches the hearts of families facing more hardship than we can imagine, where meat has become a rare luxury. Your sacrifice is their Eid.
Enter the CowMunity: A Collective Movement
This year, we’re making Qurbani easier and more impactful through CowMunity, a new initiative we created where your one share combines with six others to complete a full cow sacrifice.
You don’t need to bear the whole cost. You just need to take one step. And once all seven shares are filled, the sacrifice is performed on your behalf, providing fresh meat to vulnerable communities in Sudan, Bangladesh, Kenya, and beyond.
CowMunity is simple. Transparent. And rooted in community. Because when we sacrifice together, we feed together. We heal together. We rise together.
Don’t Know Where to Start? Start with What Matters Most.
If you’re unsure of what to give or how to make the most of these sacred days, start small, but start somewhere. In a time when the Ummah is hurting, every one of us has a role to play. Whether it’s through your Qurbani, your du’a, or your donations….this is the moment to step up.
There are ongoing projects this Dhul Hijjah that you can be a part of, projects that carry immense reward and real-world impact:
