Dr. Yahya Suufi

Dr. Suufi holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Foundation, and he currently serves as the Resident Scholar of Masjid Tawhid in West Seattle. Additionally, he is the President of the Washington Dugsi Association (WDA) and the Executive Director of the Muslim American Youth Foundation (MAYF), both non-profit organizations dedicated to addressing the needs of Muslim youth in the greater Seattle area and beyond.

Biography

Dr. Yahya Suufi, originally from Somalia, completed the Memorization of the Holy Quran at the young age of 9. After his family gained refugee status, they moved to the United States, where he was appointed as the Imam of the Islamic Center of Tacoma while still in high school, being one of the few with the entire Quran memorized. Seeking to deepen his Islamic understanding, he attended the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia, for 3 years. Subsequently, he pursued an 11-year journey of Islamic knowledge in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, earning degrees in Advanced Arabic Sciences, Islamic Law, and The Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence. Dr. Suufi holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Foundation, and he currently serves as the Resident Scholar of Masjid Tawhid in West Seattle.
