Where Care Has Collapsed, We Carry Healing
Mobile clinics, essential medicines and life changing surgeries bring hope where hospitals no longer stand.
Problem:
Across Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia and Kenya hospitals and clinics are overwhelmed or destroyed. Pregnant mothers walk for hours only to find no doctor. Children endure infections and injuries that would be minor elsewhere but become life threatening in a war zone. Families cannot afford simple treatments, let alone specialised surgeries. In these settings even a fever or a wound can mean the difference between life and death.

HDF’s Cataract Surgery Program in Yemen
Amid Yemen’s humanitarian crisis, HDF is implementing an eye surgical intervention program targeting 100 patients from poor and low-income families. At $180 per cataract surgery, the project encompasses complete lens implant procedures, diagnostic testing, and medical consultations. Recognizing the broader health needs in Yemen, HDF also provides prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation services at $560 per patient, addressing multiple aspects of disability and healthcare access in this conflict-affected nation.
Restoring Sight:
HDF’s Cataract Surgery Program in Somalia
Through strategic partnerships with local hospitals, HDF delivers essential cataract surgeries in Somalia at approximately $150 per procedure. The organization’s health interventions extend to cleft lip repairs at $550 per surgery, while also addressing basic survival needs through the distribution of food baskets, construction of water wells, and provision of hygiene kits. Restoring Sight:
HDF’s Cataract Surgery Program in Togo
HDF’s cataract surgery program in Togo focuses on restoring vision for those who cannot afford treatment, offering these essential surgeries at $120 per procedure. This cost-effective intervention enables HDF to maximize its impact, bringing sight-saving treatment to more patients within the available resources while maintaining quality care standards for this West African nation’s underserved populations.
HDF’s Response:
HDF works to restore access to health where it has disappeared. Our mobile and stationary clinics move into neighbourhoods that no longer have functioning hospitals, providing emergency care, vaccines and chronic disease medication. We equip teams to deliver trauma kits, primary care and psychosocial support for children who have endured unimaginable stress. We fund and organise life changing surgeries like cataract operations, cleft lip repair and ENT procedures so people can see, speak and walk again, breaking the cycle of disability and despair.

Empowering Gaza student
At HDF, we are committed to changing the future of displaced children in Gaza through education. Thousands of children have lost access to schooling due to the ongoing conflict, and their futures are at risk.
Through our Education for Gaza Project, we are creating safe, nurturing spaces where these children can learn, grow, and regain a sense of normalcy. We provide access to core education, psychosocial support, and recreational activities to ensure their mental, emotional, and academic well-being.
By supporting this project, you can make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of these vulnerable children. For $850 per year, you can sponsor the education and care of a child—giving them hope, stability, and the tools they need to build a brighter future.
