Syrians are the largest forcibly displaced population globally, with 90% in poverty and 11 million lacking essential resources after a decade of conflict. Syria’s collapsed healthcare system worsens the crisis, and only 46% of humanitarian needs are met despite international aid. Of the 6.8 million refugees who have fled, many have reshaped neighboring countries.
From 2023 to 2025, HDF’s Syria portfolio delivered consistent, high-impact humanitarian assistance across multiple governorates and refugee settlements, addressing both emergency relief and long-term recovery needs.
Through multi-sector coordination, HDF:
- Ensured sustained food and nutrition access for displaced families.
- Provided safe water and hygiene kits to reduce disease spread in camps.
- Restored education and stability for children and university students.
- Delivered consistent orphan care and women’s empowerment programs.
- Secured winter protection and heating support for families exposed to harsh climates.
