Water Infrastructure

Bigger than Water

We build the infrastructure, communities build a better future

From solar-powered systems in rural Pakistan to large-scale water networks in Egypt, your support creates lasting infrastructure that transforms lives for generations.

FUND INFRASTRUCTURE

How We Build A Lasting Change

We build wells, install solar pumps to keep families healthy and resilient. Our water projects support hygiene and agriculture, freeing up time for education and livelihoods and giving communities the foundation for a better future.

What We’ve Done So Far:
We build shallow wells at $250 to $1,000. We install deep wells in Somalia at 40-60 ft for $3,500. We install solar water pumps at $1100 to $9,500 to deliver sustainable clean water to entire communities.

What You Can Do to Help:
$900 builds a shallow well. $6,500 installs a solar water pump for a community. Your help is the difference between thirst and life.

Saʿd ibn ʿUbadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“My mother died while I was absent. I said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died while I was away, would it benefit her if I gave charity on her behalf?”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Yes.”
I said: “Which charity is best?”
He ﷺ said: “Water.”
(Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1681, also in al-Nasāʾī)

Assess & Design

We evaluate community needs and engineer sustainable solutions.

Build & Implement

We construct durable, large-scale infrastructure with trusted local partners.

Power & Connect

We integrate solar, storage, and distribution systems to ensure reliable access.

Monitor & Report

We track impact and provide transparent, photo-documented updates to every supporter.

NOTICE

Due to the high volume of Ramadan donations and increased demand for projects during this blessed season, some project completion timelines may take longer than expected.

In order to move forward with a dedicated well project, the full project amount must be funded when you choose to donate. You’re welcome to dedicate this well in honor or memory of a loved one — simply provide their name at checkout — or choose to contribute anonymously.

Egypt
Egypt Water Desalination & Purification Plant
Provide safe and accessible water through a 40–70 meter deep groundwater well with desalination and purification systems. The station uses multi-stage filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) technology to remove high sulfur and iron content. Designed for communities affected by contaminated groundwater, each station includes filtration units, storage tanks, distribution points, electrical control systems, and a dedicated building. It sustainably serves 600–1,000 beneficiaries including schools and households, reducing waterborne diseases, improving health and attendance, and strengthening community resilience.

Pakistan
Pakistan Water Purification Plant
Under HDF's WASH initiative, a water filtration plant equipped with advanced purification technology to ensure safe and healthy drinking water is installed, improving community health and hygiene. Depending on the quality and condition of the underground water, we install a suitable system such as a standard filtration unit, an ultra-filtration system, or a reverse osmosis (RO) plant. These plants are designed for efficiency, providing clean water to large communities with a depth of 200-400 ft. A single water filtration plant has the capacity to serve between 2,000 and 3,000 people daily.

Serve Abroad with Horizons for Humanity!

Looking to make your impact felt beyond borders?
HDF’s Horizons for Humanity service trips are immersive, weeklong experiences where volunteers come face to face with the realities of poverty, displacement, and resilience in countries like Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, and Egypt.

Participants will engage in hands on humanitarian projects, from food and water distribution to supporting children with disabilities and helping orphans. These trips are designed not just to serve, but to educate, connect, and inspire lasting advocacy.

This form lets us know you’re interested in joining a future trip. Once received, we’ll follow up with more information, including upcoming opportunities and the next steps.

No prior experience is required, just a heart for service and a willingness to learn.
