In a matter of moments, an earthquake can change everything. Homes become unsafe. Hospitals are overwhelmed. Families are separated from the places and routines that once gave life stability. People are left searching for shelter, clean water, food, medical care, and the reassurance that they will not face the days ahead alone.

Across Venezuela, Japan, the Philippines, and other regions affected by recent earthquakes, families are confronting fear, uncertainty, and the difficult work of recovery.

HDF is preparing to respond with care, coordination, and dignity.

HDF teams are currently on the ground in the Philippines, working alongside local partners to assess immediate needs and support affected communities. At the same time, we are coordinating with trusted networks and conducting field assessments in other affected regions, including Venezuela and Japan.

These assessments allow us to understand what communities need most and determine how HDF can respond in a way that is timely, effective, and grounded in local realities.

Every response will be shaped by verified needs, local guidance, and the voices of the people we are serving.

It requires immediate relief, patient rebuilding, and people willing to remain present long after attention has moved elsewhere. HDF is committed to standing with vulnerable communities before, during, and after crises.
