Sudan Emergency Relief
Sudan’s Silent Emergency
Sudan has faced decades of conflict and political instability, resulting in widespread humanitarian needs. The recent political turmoil, economic crisis, and natural disasters such as floods have further exacerbated the situation. The country is grappling with severe food insecurity, a fragile healthcare system, and a high number of displaced persons. The humanitarian crisis in Sudan is complex, requiring sustained efforts to address both immediate needs and long-term challenges.
War has taken so much from the people of Sudan. To escape the violence, many have crossed into neighboring countries searching for safety. Libya is one of the places where Sudanese families have settled, and there are now an estimated 250,000 to 370,000 refugees living there.
Many arrive through the desert city of Al Kufra. Their journey is long and challenging, and what they find when they arrive is far from easy. Many families live in makeshift shelters with little protection from the heat or cold. Clean water, medical care, and schooling are often out of reach.
