URGENT RESPONSE

Escalating Displacement in Saida, Lebanon

March 2026

Crisis OverviewTens of thousands of Lebanese civilians are fleeing their homes following intensified airstrikes across Beirut’s southern suburbs and South Lebanon. Evacuation orders have been issued for more than 50 villages, triggering mass displacement toward safer areas in the north.

As of March 2, 2026, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has confirmed 31 fatalities and 149 injuries resulting from the strikes.

Saida has once again become a primary refuge city. Highways from Dahieh and Tyre have been gridlocked as families escaped overnight bombardment. Schools in Saida have opened as emergency shelters, receiving hundreds of displaced families within hours.

The first days of displacement are critical to prevent overcrowding, disease outbreaks, and protection risks particularly as the crisis unfolds during the holy month of Ramadan.Families are arriving with little more than the clothes they are wearing.

How You Can Help

As displacement continues, everyday essentials like food, water, and shelter remain uncertain for many families. What was once stable has shifted quickly, leaving parents, elders, and children navigating sudden disruption. Your support helps meet immediate needs and offers families reassurance during a moment of uncertainty. It places food on the table, water within reach, and warmth where it is needed. Most importantly, it reminds families in Lebanon that they are not facing this moment alone.

Stand with Lebanon. Donate with HDF and bring relief to families displaced by the crisis in Lebanon.
