No Home, No Warmth
Ethiopia is currently faced with a severe humanitarian crisis as landslides, triggered by heavy seasonal rains, have devastated communities across the country. Families have been forced to flee their homes, losing everything they own and facing unimaginable hardships. With winter fast approaching and hitting their homes, the urgency to provide relief has never been greater.
Situation On The Ground
Displaced Families in Crisis: Thousands of families have been displaced by landslides and flooding, leaving them without shelter and forcing many to live in overcrowded camps or using scraps to stay safe.
Rising Poverty and Hunger: Many affected families have lost their homes, farmland, and livelihoods, digging them into extreme poverty. Food insecurity is escalating as crops have been destroyed and the chance to access markets is minimal.
Widespread Infrastructure Damage: Entire villages have been buried, roads and bridges destroyed, and schools and healthcare facilities are unusable. These losses make it increasingly difficult to deliver aid to those in need.
Health Risks on the Rise: Contaminated water sources, poor sanitation, and overcrowded living conditions are fueling the spread of waterborne diseases, further endangering vulnerable families.
