Listen to the voice of beneficiaries
Life in Gaza has tested my strength in every way. My children and I have had to leave our home more times than I can count, each time facing new uncertainty and hardship. The nights were especially difficult, cold, uncomfortable, and filled with fear. During one of our most difficult moments, we found ourselves near Shohada’ Al-Aqsa Hospital without proper shelter. That’s when HDF stepped in. They provided us with a tent in their camp, a place where my children could finally feel a sense of warmth and safety. HDF didn’t just give us a tent. They gave us stability when everything around us was shifting. Their compassion reminded us that even in the hardest times, we are not alone.

Displaced Mother, Gaza
My name is Ibrahim, and I’m 10 years old. For as long as I can remember, life in Gaza has been shaped by hardship. The sounds, the disruptions, these have become part of my everyday life. But I have dreams, just like any other kid. I want to learn, play, and grow up to do something important. When the schools shut down, everything felt uncertain. Without a classroom, my friends and I had nowhere to learn. Day by day, our hopes started to slip away. Then HDF came. They built a special school, a place made just for us. On my first day, I remember the teacher smiled at me and said, “Here, you can dream again.” And I believed her. Now I study Arabic, Math, English, and Qur’an. I play sports and draw pictures with my friends. It feels like I got a piece of my childhood back. Even though life around us is still difficult, this school has taught me something important: that hope is stronger than fear.

My name is Omar. I’m a father of five, three boys and two girls. For years, I did everything I could to protect and provide for my family. But the war changed everything. I was injured and lost my ability to walk. Now, I rely on a wheelchair, and life has become a daily struggle. We’ve been displaced more times than I can count. Each move meant fewer belongings, less stability, and more uncertainty. Today, we live in a refugee camp where even the basics like food, water, and warmth are difficult to come by. As a father, nothing is harder than seeing your children go hungry and feeling helpless to change it. Every day, I asked God to make a way, to send us something, anything, that could ease our suffering. Then HDF came. They brought food to our camp and to my family. It was more than a meal. It was an answered prayer. I cannot fully express my gratitude. With every plate of food, they brought us relief, dignity, and hope. I ask that they continue this work and keep standing with families like mine who have nowhere else to turn.
Omar Abu Ibrahim
Father and Displaced Resident, Gaza
My name is Khader Owaied Althaher, a father of five. We fled Syria hoping to find safety in Jordan and ended up living in a tent in Al-Mafraq camp. Life there was difficult, but it was still better than the war we escaped. As the years passed, things became harder. Winters were unbearable, and our tent offered little protection. My children, especially my daughters, needed privacy we couldn’t provide. We lived like that for over three years, cold, crowded, and uncertain. Despite working with my eldest son, we could barely afford food, let alone shelter. I kept praying for something better. Then, HDF arrived. They provided us with a caravan, a proper shelter that gave us warmth, privacy, and peace of mind. It felt like our prayers were answered. Thanks to HDF and its supporters, we finally have a safe space to call home. They gave us more than a structure. They gave us comfort, dignity, and a renewed sense of stability.

My name is Reem. I’m 12 years old, and I live with my mother and two younger brothers. Life was already difficult. My father passed away years ago, and my mother is very sick. I tried to help her take care of my brothers and stay strong. Then everything changed. Our home was destroyed, and we had to flee many times, trying to stay safe. We had no shelter, no clean water, and nowhere to feel secure. My mother’s health got worse, and the only water we could find often made her feel even worse. Every day, I prayed for clean water, something to help her feel better. HDF answered that prayer. They came to our area and brought water tanks for families like mine. They filled our containers with safe, clean water. That day, I saw hope return to my mother’s face. I’m so grateful to HDF for helping us when we needed it most. You didn’t just bring us water. You gave us relief, care, and kindness.

My name is Huda. I’m 5 years old, and I live in a camp with my parents and five siblings. Winters here are very cold, and my father is always worried about how to keep us warm. Last year, we didn’t have what we needed, and it was really hard. I didn’t understand everything as a kid, but I could see my father wasn’t feeling well. I started praying for help, for warm clothes, for something to make my dad worry less. Then HDF came. They brought us wool kits to help us get through the winter. It made me so happy. My father smiled for the first time in a while. Thanks to HDF, this winter will be different. I won’t be cold like before, and my family feels stronger. Your kindness made our lives better.

My name is Nafisa Mohammed Hasan. I’m an Egyptian mother, and my dream is to see my son, Islam, get married. Years ago, we were preparing for his wedding, but financial hardship changed everything. Since then, we’ve just been trying to get by. Islam is everything to me. Despite my health problems, like heart disease and diabetes, seeing him start his life with a family of his own would bring me peace. HDF heard our story and brought us help. They gave us a food parcel, a blanket, a mattress, and a bag of meat. It brought joy to our home and reminded us we are not forgotten. I’m grateful beyond words. May Allah reward those who made this possible. You’ve brought hope back into my life, and I pray others can receive the same care.

What Our Supporters Say

Before HDF’s arrival in Gaza, my children went to bed hungry—over 80% of Gazans now depend on charity kitchens for minimal meals, and more than half of Gaza’s water facilities were damaged or destroyed
When HDF installed water tanks, families like mine regained safe drinking water, echoing UNICEF’s findings that less than one in ten people previously had clean water
