Water for Tomorrow

Give Water, Give Life

Clean water. Brighter futures. HDF’s Water for Tomorrow program brings safe water to India, Kenya and Pakistan, changing lives, one community at a time.

Provide Clean Water

HDF’s Response:

We build wells, install solar pumps to keep families healthy and resilient. Our water projects support hygiene and agriculture, freeing up time for education and livelihoods and giving communities the foundation for a better future.

What We’ve Done So Far:
We build shallow wells at $250 to $1,000. We install deep wells in Somalia at 40-60 ft for $3,500. We install solar water pumps at $1100 to $9,500 to deliver sustainable clean water to entire communities.

What You Can Do to Help:
$900 builds a shallow well. $6,500 installs a solar water pump for a community. Your help is the difference between thirst and life.

Saʿd ibn ʿUbadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“My mother died while I was absent. I said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died while I was away, would it benefit her if I gave charity on her behalf?”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Yes.”
I said: “Which charity is best?”
He ﷺ said: “Water.”
(Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1681, also in al-Nasāʾī)

Afghanistan Deep Solar Powered Well

Our large or deep water wells are drilled between 35 and over 100 meters deep, primarily in mountainous regions and high-elevation areas where water sources lie far underground. Due to their depth, these wells are equipped with solar-powered pumping systems and often include water storage tanks or reservoirs for consistent access throughout the day. These wells serve entire villages in remote mountain areas and can benefit several hundred to several thousand people. While more costly to construct and installed less frequently, they cover wider geographic areas and reach communities with the greatest need. Each well includes a concrete platform and solar-powered system, ensuring durability, cleanliness, and safe community access.

Pakistan Water Solar Station

Under HDF's WASH initiative, a Water Solar Station is installed to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water. This large-scale water scheme operates on the same mechanism as a solar water well but with expanded capacity, equipped with additional solar panels, a larger water pumping system, and extensive storage facilities. Multiple water taps provide easy community access. With its enhanced design, the Water Solar Station can serve up to 1,000 people daily with clean drinking water. Powered by renewable solar energy, this initiative promotes climate-resilient water services with a depth of 200-300 ft.
