A Seat at the Table: HDF Signs as a Strategic Partner of the Islamic Development Bank

Sarah Alam

Alhamdulillah. In Jeddah, HDF officially signed on as a strategic partner of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group under Tadamon 2.0: Seeds of Solidarity. The agreement was signed directly with IsDB President H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, with HDF delivering remarks at the signing on behalf of the organization.

Why this matters

IsDB is one of the largest multilateral development institutions in the world, spanning dozens of member countries across four continents and financing development projects at a global scale (full figures are available on IsDB’s official site). Institutions of that size don’t sign partnerships lightly. Being recognized and approved as a strategic partner at this stage of HDF’s journey is a real validation of the work this team has built, together, over the past three years.

What is Tadamon 2.0?

Tadamon began in 2019 as one of IsDB’s flagship homegrown programs, built to reduce poverty and vulnerability among hard-to-reach and marginalized communities across its member countries. Over its first five years, the program helped 442,000 people gain access to essential services, supported 8,600 children during the COVID-19 pandemic, and delivered food assistance to more than 245,000 people. It also mapped over 5,500 civil society organizations across 34 member countries and helped mobilize $155 million in co-financing and partner contributions.

Tadamon 2.0, Seeds of Solidarity, is the next chapter. IsDB Group Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser has described it as a shift from fragmented efforts to scalable impact, and from short-term response to long-term resilience, with a goal of reaching 500,000 vulnerable people with essential services and strengthening food security and livelihoods for 16,000 low-income families. HDF now stands alongside that effort, as a partner working toward the same goal.

What this opens up for HDF

Expanded reach: Access to IsDB’s network across its member countries opens doors to communities HDF doesn’t currently serve, extending the same work HDF is already known for into new corners of the world.

Funding opportunities: Direct access to IsDB’s grantmaking gives HDF a way to scale existing programs and sustain them in underserved regions for the long haul, not just for one campaign season.

Strategic visibility: This partnership places HDF alongside leading development and aid organizations, UN agencies, and other multilateral partners, at a table where the biggest decisions about global poverty reduction get made.

This is the team’s win:

None of this happened by accident. It took months of quiet, disciplined work, the kind that rarely makes it into a headline, to get HDF recognized at this level. To everyone who carried that work, this milestone belongs to you as much as it belongs to the organization.

HDF is three years into its mission. Alhamdulillah, moments like this are proof of where consistency and sincerity can lead.
