Human Development Fund (HDF) has launched Sadaqah+, a new round-up giving platform that turns the difference from everyday purchases into regular charitable giving.
A $4.35 coffee leaves 65 cents between the purchase and the next dollar. With Sadaqah+, that difference can be collected over time and directed to an HDF program you choose.
You decide the causes, giving schedule and limits. You can also pause or adjust your settings when your budget changes.
The launch gives HDF supporters a new way to make Sadaqah+ round-up giving part of the rhythm of daily life.
How Sadaqah+ round-up giving works
The setup has three parts:
- Connect securely. Link a bank account through Stripe Financial Connections. The connection supplies the transaction information needed to calculate each round-up.
- Round up purchases. If a purchase costs $4.35, Sadaqah+ calculates 65 cents as the difference to the next dollar. Those small amounts accumulate in the background.
- Give on your schedule. Sadaqah+ charges the accumulated donation according to the schedule you select, then sends a receipt for the gift.
The merchant still charges the original purchase amount. Sadaqah+ calculates the difference separately and includes it in the donation you authorize.
Choose where your difference goes
You can direct your round-ups to one cause or divide them among several. Current choices include emergency relief, Gaza assistance, Sudan relief, hot meals, orphan care, clean water, medical aid and education.

Your dashboard records each round-up and shows the causes you selected. You can change those causes whenever your priorities change.
This means a routine purchase can contribute to work already underway. A few cents from coffee, groceries or fuel can join gifts from across the HDF community and become part of a larger response.
Your controls stay with you
Regular giving should not mean giving up control. Sadaqah+ lets you pause round-ups, set a cap, adjust your giving and disconnect your account.
The platform uses Stripe Financial Connections for bank linking. According to the Sadaqah+ Privacy Policy, HDF does not see or store your bank login credentials. Transaction data is used to calculate round-ups, while Stripe processes the scheduled bank debits you authorize.
The dashboard also provides a record of your giving, donation receipts and monthly summaries. You can see what has accumulated and where you directed it without searching through separate confirmations.
Consistency built into everyday life
Sadaqah is voluntary charitable giving. It can begin with a large contribution, but it does not have to. Sadaqah+ is designed around smaller amounts given consistently.
You set the intention, causes and limits. The platform then carries out the instructions you chose as purchases happen throughout the month.
The next time you pay for coffee, groceries or fuel, there may be a few cents between what you spent and the next dollar. Sadaqah+ gives those cents a destination.
Set up Sadaqah+ round-ups and turn the difference from everyday purchases into regular charitable giving.
