There is something powerful about watching a child hold their first backpack after everything they have lost. Maybe it is the way their hands linger on the zipper, unsure if it is really theirs. Or how their eyes light up when they find pencils, notebooks, and a lunchbox tucked neatly inside, small things that whisper to them, you still belong here.
This year, thanks to this community, that moment was made possible for nearly 22,000 children across twenty countries.

Learning in the Midst of Ruin
In Gaza, classrooms have turned into shelters, and desks into dining tables. Yet somehow, learning continues. With your support, 643 children in Gaza and the West Bank received school kits, uniforms, and the joy of a new school year. In every tent that became a classroom, you gave a child a reason to dream again.
“Education is an amanah, a trust that protects our future and keeps our Ummah alive,” says Shaykh Abdirahman Kariye, CEO of The Human Development Fund.

Learning Where It Matters Most
Across Yemen, Kenya, Somalia, and Jordan, children returned to classrooms that had been empty for months. In many areas, teachers still rely on chalkboards cracked by heat or time, yet the lessons continue. Families who could not afford supplies watched their children walk into school with new backpacks, uniforms, and the confidence to keep learning. In Sudan and Libya, where schools were damaged and communities displaced by war and famine, your support helped reopen classrooms and deliver the essentials that make learning possible again.
Through this year’s effort, students not only received tools to learn but the reassurance that their education still matters. Each backpack became a sign that their future is being protected and that learning remains possible, even in hardship.

What Your Support Made Possible
- Backpacks that carried notebooks, pencils, and Qur’an sets
- Uniforms that helped every student stand as equals in the classroom
- Stationery kits that allowed lessons to continue
- Lunchboxes and bottles that encouraged consistency and care
Your giving reached classrooms across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including children in Yemen, Palestine, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, and among them, Syrian refugees. In each place, the outcome was the same: children learning, parents relieved, and communities strengthened.

Education as a Shared Trust
Every backpack you hand to a child carries the care of an entire community. It represents the teachers who keep showing up, parents who keep believing, and people like you who refuse to let learning fade. Education is a shared responsibility. It crosses borders, languages, and circumstances. It protects children today and prepares them to build what their parents could only dream of.

Knowledge That Continues to Give
In every pencil sharpened and every page turned, there is something greater happening. It is a reminder that teaching and gaining knowledge remains one of the purest forms of Sadaqah Jariyah. When a child learns, they carry that learning into their home, their future, and their community.
Your giving has already shaped so many of these stories, and there is more to see. Read the full Back to School 2025 Impact Report to witness how your contributions reached classrooms across the world and changed lives through education.
As we look ahead, your continued support keeps these classrooms open and allows new projects to grow. Every lesson taught, every student supplied, and every school restored is made possible by your generosity. Together, we can ensure that learning never stops.
May Allah accept your giving, bless every student supported through this campaign, and make these lessons last for generations to come.
