We pray this message finds you in good health and strong faith. Lebanon is in the grip of an escalating humanitarian catastrophe. In the past week alone, intense airstrikes have devastated entire neighborhoods, with over 82 people killed and more than 3,000 wounded.
On September 23, Lebanon endured one of the deadliest days of conflict in years, with 558 people killed in a single day, including 50 children and 94 women. Hospitals are overwhelmed, homes are destroyed, and families are left struggling for survival.
At times of crisis, many of you turn to HDF, trusting us to bring aid to those who need it most. We don’t take this responsibility lightly. The Human Development Fund (HDF) has launched an emergency response to provide essential relief to Lebanon. We are distributing:
• Food aid to ensure families don’t go hungry.
• Clean water and hygiene kits to prevent the spread of disease.
• Medical supplies for thousands of wounded individuals.
• Emergency shelter for families displaced by the destruction.
These efforts are crucial as the situation continues to deteriorate, with over 75% of the population pushed into poverty. The health system is on the verge of collapse.
