Ihsan Mode: A Focused Qur’an App for Building Consistency

Mustafa Ahmed

Finding time to read the Qur’an is often easier than protecting that time from interruptions. The Ihsan Mode app, created by Human Development Fund (HDF), brings reading, focus tools, and progress tracking into one place.

HDF launched the app ahead of Ramadan 2026. It remains available for iPhone and Android as a tool for readers who want to return to the Qur’an regularly and continue from where they stopped.

A reading experience built around the Qur’an

Ihsan Mode includes Madani and IndoPak manuscript layouts. Readers can navigate by Surah, Juz, or page, save bookmarks, use available translations, and resume from their previous position.

The reading view is only one part of the experience. Users can schedule recitation sessions around prayer times, activate Focus Mode to limit selected app distractions during a session, and view their reading progress. Streaks and achievement badges offer reminders of consistency without making speed the purpose of recitation.

The product’s store listings say reading minutes are verified before they count toward progress statistics and leaderboard placement, although the public pages do not explain the verification method.

How the Ramadan 2026 meal rewards worked

During Ramadan 2026, Ihsan Mode connected its daily leaderboard with HDF’s feeding work. Verified reading minutes contributed to a reader’s position, and the top 100 readers each day earned charitable rewards. Each reward represented one meal that HDF committed to provide to a fasting person on the reader’s behalf.

The distinction matters. The campaign did not use a per-ayah or per-minute donation formula. Reading time determined leaderboard placement; the daily top 100 received the meal rewards.

HDF should publish a dedicated Ihsan Mode campaign result showing the number of rewards claimed, meals funded and delivered, delivery locations, dates, and how those meals fit within the wider Ramadan 2026 Impact Report. Until that breakdown is available, the article should not assign part of HDF’s 1.57 million Ramadan meal total to the app.

What continues beyond Ramadan

The Qur’an reader, bookmarks, recitation schedules, Focus Mode, streaks, badges, prayer-time tools, and progress tracking give Ihsan Mode a purpose beyond a seasonal campaign. The app also introduced a Ramadan summary showing a user’s recitation, streaks, badges, reader pattern, and recorded meal rewards from the month.

Leaderboards and charitable rewards may operate differently outside Ramadan. HDF should label active reward periods inside the app and on its website so readers know when a meal campaign is open, how qualification works, and when results will be reported.

Permissions and privacy

Some functions require device permissions. Prayer times use location, while Focus Mode relies on platform controls that help restrict selected apps during scheduled reading sessions. On Android, this includes an optional Accessibility Service that can be disabled in device settings.

The App Store and Google Play listings describe the data the app may collect or share. They also state that users can control their leaderboard display name and request account deletion. Review the current store disclosures and the app’s privacy policy before enabling optional features.

Begin with a few focused minutes

A lasting reading practice does not have to begin with a large target. Choose a manageable time, protect it from distractions, and return again the next day.
